Stickam Launches Mobile Capability

by Jason Wilk on October 13, 2008

  • After suffering a 60,000 uniques loss from July to September, Stickam is hoping to jump start itself with the addition of mobile video streaming.
  • As of today, users are able to stream videos from their mobile phones, directly to their Stickam account.
  • The capability is only available as of now with Nokia N95 and S60 series phones.
  • Stickam will now be directly competing with the likes of Qik and Flixwagen, both previously offering mobile video streaming.

What happens when a site like YouTube adds mobile streaming, will Stickam, Qik, and Flixwagen still have a chance?

  • Mobile to Web video streaming app and service, Qik, will come preloaded on the new Nokia 5800 XpressMusic (Tube).
  • Qik now makes a huge leap from geek favorite to the pre-loaded common consumer market that is oh so tightly regulated by the carriers and to a certain extent, the device makers themselves.

Good Job Nokia or Ish Don’t Think So?
