  • Google announced a Book Search Data API that will allow devices and applications to pull information about books, including reviews and tags, from their Google Books database (including My Library).
  • Will add functionality for eBook readers, such as this real-paper-lookalike reader from PlasticLogic.

PlasticLogic Does Slick e-Paper

  • PlasticLogic, premeiring at DEMOfall 08,  showed off their eBook reader that looks like a piece of paper encased in highly flexible plastic.
  • The reader can be updated wirelessly and is capable of displaying a variety of document formats, including PDF and Office.
  • Meanwhile, Esquire’s latest magazine has an e-Ink dynamic display embedded into the cover.
  • Newsprint’s collapse appears imminent — could this type of tech save it?
