CampusLIVE: A Start Page for College Students

by John Jorgensen on October 7, 2008

  • CampusLIVE provides college students with a start page containing localized information about their area including TV listings, student video reviews of nearby restaurants, and weather.
  • Facebook box displays how many messages/pokes/invites you currently have waiting.
  • Search bar lets you scour YouTube, CNN and Google. People finder lets you find students.
  • tiny commentary: The only value I see at all in this are the restaurant reviews. Everything else is like a lame iGoogle page. People finder? Isn’t that what Facebook is for?

TabUp: Most Likely Going Down

by David Heyerman on September 3, 2008

  • TabUp is a new beta service hoping to offer basic web apps as well as a social feature.
  • The UI looks great and has a good feeling to it.
  • The social aspect is based almost entirely around tab sharing.

Does this site offer enough unique tools to compete with the likes of iGoogle, and others like yourminis?
