Google Has Rogue Agents In Russia?

by Jason Wilk on October 23, 2008

  • Google in July was supposed to have gone through with their acquisition of Russian contextual advertising company Begun
  • A combination of Begun and Google AdSense caused monopoly accusations by the Russian government, who began an anti-trust investigation of them last month.
  • One of the requirements of Google in the investigation was to give complete information about each of the personnel that Google had in Russia.
  • Google refused to give up the information and now the deal is reportedly cancelled.
  • Russia is one of the remaining markets that Google cannot seem to grasp the number 1 spot. What kind of rogues are scoping out the competition there inside Rambler and others?
