Google Maps Gets New Satellite, Can Zoom In On Your Face

Google Maps has gotten a hardware upgrade — not server side, but space side: GeoEye-1 is Google’s new satellite capable of capturing color images at 1.65 meters (able to read license plates).

Track Where You Hike with Trailino

Trailino is a web app that takes GPS data you upload while hiking and displays your path on a topographical Google Map.
Specify what mode of transportation the trail is geared for: bicycle, foot, car, ski, etc.
Add geocoded photos via Flickr in addition to info such as elevation and speed for each trail.

Walking Directions Integrated Into Google Maps Mobile

Google just announced the addition of walking directions as well as street view to the mobile version of Google Maps.
The service can only be utilized on Blackberry’s and other Java-based phones as of right now.
