- Family tree building site, Familybuilder, has quickly grown into a gigantic network of over 20 million people.
- They’ve just announced that starting on the 15th of October, DNA testing will be available for it’s users.
- The tests are mail-in based and cost $59.99, a low price compared to competitors like Ancestry.com’s $149 charge.
- Users will receive maternal (maDNA) and paternal (yDNA) information as well as a finite look back in time.

- Sergey Brin on his new blog, reveals he has a certain gene mutation that is tied to Parkinson’s Disease – G2019S.
- There is a 20-80% chance he will get it.
- He found out via 23andMe, a company his wife co-founded that accepts samples of blood from people, and for a $399 fee breaks down your DNA and gene data to figure out what diseases you are prone to.
- The more gene data they recieve into their database the more accurate they will become, which means at a young age you can find out what may take your life.
