Bush Increases IP Laws

• The law triples damages in copyright infringement cases, which allows the government to seize property to make up for stolen digital property.
• This  makes  each song and movie you download a separate criminal offense.
• Copyright lobbyists have been on their road show to try and promote that copyright laws written in the pre-digital age needs to be protected and reinforced.
• So the enforcement doesn’t kill innovation and creativity and things don’t get out of hand, there needs to be a set of guidelines of what is fair use.
