BlueTunes Stream Music Anywhere

BlueTunes Better Have The Best Lawyer In Town

by Jason Wilk on September 26, 2008

  • BlueTunes enables you to upload the music you own onto their site, and then lets you listen to it on any computer online and by others.
  • BlueTunes says that they have the ability to upload your music in a fraction of the time of the other services (which many have been shut down).
  • They use the iPhoto strategy of skippping the songs they already have on their servers. The more popular the site gets, the more chances all songs in your playlist will be on there.
  • MP3.com tried this stunt 8 years ago and lost $200m in a heated lawsuit with the labels.
  • Amazingly, BlueTunes was able to raise $1.2m in angel funding from an undisclosed source. I hope they know how much the legal fees are going to run.
  • I just hope they will make an iPhone app before they get shut down.

How long will it be before BlueTunes gets a cease and desist?
