- VoIP startup Ooma, that launched 14 months ago with the help of Ashton Kutcher is getting close to drawing up the will.
- Key executives have already left and rumor has it they don’t have much left of the original $26m raised previously.
- Sling Media marketing exec (guru) Rich Buchanan is going to come on the scene with the additional $16m Oooma just raised to try and pump life back into the company.
- Rich led the Sling marketing team to 500,000 units sold as of this past July. Its a lot easier to do when you have a great product.
- Would love to hear what is on the minds of the returning investors: Draper Fisher Jurvetson, WorldView Technology Partners, Founders Fund, WI Harper Group, Draper Richards and the only new investor, Telecommunications Development Fund
- Maybe they should include an Ooma on an episode of ‘Punk’d’

- Record Skype calls in a mp3 file and manage/share call records.
- Also, convert your phone calls into transcribed text.
- Search your calls by what you talked about, who it was with and more.
- CallGraph is great because it brings the usefulness of Gmail search filters with email conversation to voice.

- Don’t let the logo fool you, iSkoot doesn’t make three wheeled zoomers but rather makes mobile VoIP via Skype a frugal deal for international calling baby boomers.
- iSkoot acquisition of Social.im, the once innovative, now obsolete Facebook messaging tool, will test the well funded ($13M) startup’s ability to squeeze whatever juice is left of Social.im and mix it with its mobile application.
Despite its partnership with Skype and new messaging technology can iSkoot compete with similar implementations by the brands (Facebook, Skype, etc.) themselves?
