China Orders Up Some Seriously Fast Trains
by David Heyerman on October 1, 2009

- The Chinese Ministry of Railways (MOR) just hired a company called Bombardier Sifang to supply the country with 80 high speed trains, totaling at 1,120 cars.
- The train specifically is called the ZEFIRO 380, which has a top speed of 236mph (380kph) with energy savings as high as 50% compared to traditional trains.
- As I wrote back in the end of August, China plans to spend $300 billion on rail efforts between now and 2020. It’s great to see the beginning of this start to occur.
- Now if only the US would get a clue.
