Download Music, Save The Environment

by David Heyerman on September 21, 2009

  • It’s quite obvious that downloading music is more efficient than manufacturing CD’s.  That being said, researchers at Carnegie Mellon, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and Stanford have now put some numbers behind just how much energy is saved by downloading music versus traditional CD distribution.
  • According to the study, downloading music reduces between forty and eighty percent of the CO2 emitted when producing and distributing CD’s.
  • So there ya go.  Download your music, help save the environment. (via Earth2Tech)
