First Solar, “Keep Them Utility Contracts Comin!”

Industry leader, First Solar, just announced yet another huge utility contract with Southern California Edison.
The contract will consist of two solar photovoltaic plants, which together will generate a capacity of 550MW.
Alongside the contracts First Solar’s locked in thus far (see below), they’ve also achieved such milestones as lowering production costs to under a $1 per watt and feeding energy into the grid at a cheaper cost than coal.
First Solar never seems to disappoint in the announcement arena, but hey, what happened to all the controversy regarding the recent Optisolar contract purchase?
