Dubai To Urbanize Solar Thermal Technology

  • Of course, you can slap solar panels on the side or roof of your building, but if you really want efficiency, this seems like it may be the best option currently.
  • The Almeisan Tower, which is planned for Za’abeel park in Dubai will integrate a relatively typical solar thermal setup. The circular roof will rotate to focus a series of mirrors and the top of the tower, vaporizing the water pumped into the tower, thus spinning a turbine.
  • The building itself will house a children’s library, cafe, observation deck, and community meeting spaces.  Even better, the project boasts it will produce enough energy to power itself and several neighboring buildings.
  • Definitely an application I’ve not seen before, but nonetheless solid in its intentions.  Now, lets just see if it gets built.
