Spanish Style Solar Panels Show Elegance & Efficiency

SRS Energy just began manufacturing solar panels in the shape of Tuscan terracotta roofing tiles as you can see in the above picture. Uni-Solar produces the amorphous silicon cells which are incredibly durable within a wide range of temperatures. They even link seamlessly with tiles produced by US Tile.
These babies unfortunately will only generate a peak of 500 watts per 100 square feet, which is less efficient than a normal, south-facing panel. However, if you’ve got the cash, this is surely the best looking form of home-based solar I’ve seen yet.
As I’ve said before, as time moves forward, we’ll only see more and more applications with better efficiency…..let the cleantech revolution begin.
