Windows 7 Getting Good Feedback
by Jason Wilk on April 8, 2009

- According to ComputerWorld, beta testers of Microsoft Corp.’s Windows 7 are “four times more likely to be happy with what they’re seeing than were early users of Windows Vista, a factor that’s driving more than half the companies surveyed to dump Vista adoption plans, says CharlesWave Research”. Not that it’s too much to brag about, but 44% of the 68 users testing Windows 7 said that they were “very satisfied” with the beta. The same survey in 2007 for Vista only saw 10% of users “very satisfied” with their UX.
- 14% of IT professionals interviewd said that their companies were already deferring some PC and server purchases in anticipation of Windows 7 to avoid dealing with Vista. Sounds like good news for Microsoft who hopefully can take these samples to the bank. The company has still been doing well despite Vista being on less than 20% of computers worldwide; a steady decline to Windows market share in years past. Windows 7 is widely expected to boost morale, so expect a healthy long out of Microsoft for the next 24 months.
