  • Swiss automobile design house Rinspeed will unveil the first concept electric car controlled by an iPhone at next week’s Geneva Motor Show. Don’t get too excited Bond, you won’t be able to sit in the backseat of your car and drive with your iPhone, but it will start your engine and host your primary control panel. Clip your iPhone into a holder on the dashboard to the right or left of the steering wheel. Once connected a green “start” button appears on the iPhone’s display and one push turns on the engine. You will also be able to do other things like turn your lights on/off, air temp, etc.

  • The iChange is set to be a single seater, but pushing a button on the dash releases the roof and makes room for two more passengers. It’s 100% electric, powered by Lithium Ion batteries. Built by Siemens, the 150 kilowatt Siemens-built electric motor provides enough power to take the car from zero to 100 kph (kilometers per hour) in 4.2 seconds. Designer Frank Rinderknecht, is well known for his design of Richard Branson owned “sQuba,” a sports car that can drive underwater, which also unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. Don’t expect to see this car in production either.
