Amazon Can’t Sell The Storm, Lowers Price To $99

by Jason Wilk on February 9, 2009

  • In light of continued complaints of bugs and inability to clear shelves, Amazon has decided to lower the price of Blackberry’s touch screen Storm to $99. This is the second retailer to offer an incentive since Verizon’s own buy-one get-one-free offer. Amazon’s offer instantly knocks off $250 without even the need to fill out a form or wait in the mail for a check. Pretty embarrassing for RIM.

um, you might want to check the spelling on your name, I believe it is "Rothschild" (for red shield so the story goes).

The storm is the top selling Blackberry on Verizon right now. Anyone who says otherwise is dumb. Just because a 3rd party retailer (Amazon in this case) can't move units, doesn't mean they're not moving at physical retail in Verizon stores

Too bad the Storm is much slower than my reliable 8700. Price drop was needed.

According to Amzon.com, the Storm is the number 2 selling cell phone.
