Take Our Jobs, Take Our Liberty, Just Don’t Take Our Porn
by Jason Wilk on December 1, 2008

- FCC chairman Kevin J. Martin, who is on his way out, is trying to leave as a hero in the minds of millions of Americans (not me or you)
- In his last few months, he is trying to push for a free wireless web for the entire USA, utilizing the empty white spaces that can enable free Wi-Fi, coast-to-coast.
- What’s the catch? Martin is trying to attach an addendum to the proposal that says ‘anyone attempting to use the free wireless connection will be blocked from accessing porn. Huh?
- This opens the door for the FCC to regulate decency standards on the Web. It is mindless that the FCC chair even think she can regulate such a vast sea of porn sites on the web, when he can barely regulate 500 channels on TV.
- Just remember Kevin Martin. In a down economy, the porn industry provides tax dollars, jobs and most importantly ‘high spirits’.
