LiveSearch Blows It For Black Friday Rush

by Jason Wilk on November 28, 2008

  • Microsoft disappointed it’s Live Cashback users today who woke up early to find a ‘Server Timeout’ message instead of the ’search engine that pays you back’ (the page is still down at 1:45pm PST)
  • Microsoft, who’s search volume has been rising over the last two months, was expecting a big day from Black Friday shoppers looking to use Live Search Cashback to save even more money off of online purchases.
  • No word yet from Microsoft on what the problem has been all day. This does not speak well for the team who is becoming ever more dependent on the idea of storing information in the cloud. If they can’t even have their own web businesses live, how can I rely on my online files being there when I need them? Big mistake today fellas.
