Yahoo Loses Big Exec From European Arm
by Jason Wilk on November 27, 2008

- Yahoo is losing another big wig from their ever-weakening corporate arsenal.
- Toby Coppel, Yahoo’s EVP and managing director of Europe and Canada will announce tomorrow morning that he is exiting the company.
- Yahoo now has to find someone capable of running Coppel’s job, which entails managing the major Western European markets (United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Scandinavia), as well as Canada. This of course on top of finding a new CEO to replace Mr. Yang.
- Rich Riley, Yahoo SVP of Europe’s Advertiser & Publisher Group, is rumored to be taking over the position.
- More bad news for Yahoo and further poor decisions being made inside the company. I am not sold on the idea that advertising executives can point a major search corporation in the right direction at this point. Sorry Yahoo, I love your product, just not your practice.
