Google to Release Voice Search iPhone App
by John Jorgensen on November 14, 2008

- Google is set to release a voice search app on the iPhone that may be available in the App Store as early as tomorrow, the New York Times reports.
- Activate the app, say “Where’s the nearest Starbucks,” and it will return the result within seconds, utilizing the iPhone’s GPS when appropriate/available.
- Google employees have been using it and like it.
- I can’t wait for this to come out, if only for the awesome ability to let other people know where you’re about to go. “Mark, I’m sorry, things just aren’t going to work out.” “Oh really? Well, if that’s how you really feel. Google? Nearest ex-girlfriend.”
- With Android vs. iPhone making them official competitors, its cool to see Google and Apple still being friendly. That is, until the app is live and every other search mysteriously leads you to a T-Mobile store.
