Google Launches Keyword Based RSS Alerts

by David Heyerman on October 31, 2008

  • If you occasionally search your name or a specific keyword on Google to see what’s been mentioned lately, they’ve now made it much easier for you.
  • Google Alerts now allows users to add keywords that they’d like to be notified regarding.
  • Google then presents the information to the user in the form of an RSS feed or normal email delivery.
  • Users can choose to have the words searched for comprehensively, or more specific within the frame of news, blogs, web, video, and/or groups.

If you’re a Google Reader addict like myself, this new addition is fantastic.  Simply type in any keyword you like (your name, your company’s name, your mutha’s name, whatever) , select feed as the way of delivery, and boom, you’ve got a new custom made RSS feed in your Reader…..Great!
