Average Internet Users Confused by OpenID

The results of a recent OpenID usability study conducted by Yahoo revealed that normal internet uses don’t know WTF OpenID is and can’t figure out how to use it.
Granted, the study was only ran with nine people, albeit “Yahoo users in their thirties who considered themselves of medium-to-high internet savvy.”

Did this surprise anybody? I would guess that most internet users still don’t know what RSS is, let alone OpenID.
