- MySpace launched MyAds tonight, a new self serve ad platform that lets anyone serve an ad throughout the MySpace network.
- Users can choose between uploading a 728×90 or 300×250 ad or can create their own ad using the flash tools inside the MyAds portal.
- Similar to Google and unlike Facebook (Facebook has a CPC and CPM model), advertisers will pay less if their ads are clicked a lot
- Powering the service is SDC, an ad monetization company that Fox Interactive purchased last year (Hey, An Investment They Are Putting To Use!)
- Advertisers will gain access to MyAd’s hypertargeting technology which helps target the 1,200 different ways they have categorized their user base.
MySpace CEO says this will be a major revenue source for them, but will it be that major?
