Have A Good Idea For A Product? Use The Ponoko Design Marketplace | tinyCrunch

by Jason Wilk on September 25, 2008

  • Ponoko provides an all inclusive marketplace for products (typically jewelry, accessory and trinket) designers.
  • Submit your design to them via their design software, picture of your product from a napkin or through a detailed description on a request form to receive bids from designers who can make what you want.
  • Their new application, Photomake, can take the product design you scribbled on a piece of paper and use their laser cutters to turn it into 3D.
  • Everything that is made can be re-sold in their online store, or you can sell them yourself on your own site, with Ponoko fulfilling the shipments. Very cool.
  • Example pricing. Someone designed a set of coasters that were lasercut and the lowest bidder was $25, so cheap!
