PressPlane Is CafePress For The Business World

by Jason Wilk on September 24, 2008

  • PressPlane is a stealth startup out of Seattle that has caught the eye of some very promising investors.
  • They just raised $1.7m from Second Avenue Partners, with individual investments coming from elite individuals that include:
    • Mika Salmi (MTV President / AtomFilms)
    • Rich Barton (Founder, Expedia / Zillow)
    • Alex Algard (Founder, Whitepages)
    • and More.
  • The concept is CafePress for the business world. Designers mock up templates for things like brochures, business cards, one page sales ads, etc. with on-site input capabilities from the business.
  • Orders will be fulfilled by third parties and PressPlane takes a cut
  • Sounds similar to Branddoozie.com, but they have been around since May and haven’t been noticed yet.
  • The site is still in private beta, so we will keep you posted on a launch.
