Trion Raises $70m More For MMORPG’s

  • Online game developer and publisher Trion, has raised another $70m from Peacock Equity, a $250m global fund founded by GE Commercial Finance and NBC Universal.
  • They are currently working on an MMORPG with NBC Universal’s Sci-Fi channel
  • Working on another for distribution with legendary game designer Jon Van Caneghem
  • Online gaming is a hot category right now, especially in the down economy when hedge funds, VC’s are looking elsewhere for sound investments.
  • Roughly 217m people play online games.
