No More Desktop App For Joost

by David Heyerman on September 18, 2008

  • Joost has switched from a downloadable desktop app to access its P2P video sharing service to a browser plug-in.
  • One of the most highly anticipated companies of last year (started by Skype founders), has disappointed many on it’s quest to change online TV.
  • Their lack of content, quality and users is a tough sell against new competitors like Hulu

Update: Joost is doing more than just a browser plug-in. They have integrated a social network centered around the videos, which provies user status updates, recommendations, ’shouts’ and more.
