  • Sergey Brin on his new blog, reveals he has a certain gene mutation that is tied to Parkinson’s Disease – G2019S.
  • There is a 20-80% chance he will get it.
  • He found out via 23andMe, a company his wife co-founded that accepts samples of blood from people, and for a $399 fee breaks down your DNA and gene data to figure out what diseases you are prone to.
  • The more gene data they recieve into their database the more accurate they will become, which means at a young age you can find out what may take your life.

    I certainly would not want to know. I think it's best to assume that you aren't invincible and that any potential disease is possible. This test might lead to people thinking they aren't prone to getting a specific disease and then their body changes. Your body doesn't stay the same your whole life.
