Blackberry Bold Coming In One Month. RIM Needs It

by Jason Wilk on September 11, 2008

  • RIM announced to us today that the official US launch of the Bold is one month away.
  • The device will launch with AT&T as the exclusive carrier for now.
  • The new Bold is a more multimedia intensive blackberry and has a complete leather back (very Vertu of them)
  • RIM stock since the launch of the iPhone 3G has slipped 25%.
  • They are launching a slew of new products in the next 6 months including a Pearl flip phone, possibly a touch screen blackberry and an updated version of the Curve.

Update: TechCrunch announced today that Microsoft and RIM have reached a search deal. All new Blackberry products will be running Microsoft Live Search. Microsoft may be RIM’s last ally in the mobile war.

What will happen with RIM over the next 2 year?

A tiny exclusive.

@ CMann. Checked it out. Doesn't look like a value add for RIM. What do you think?

Video playback on the Bold is very sleek. Gonna be a great device. Have you checked out the clam shell PERL BBerry?
