VideoSurf Breaking The Visual Search Barrier

by glu on September 10, 2008

  • VideoSurf uses visual analysis algorithms to index videos.
  • Results are returned with thumbnails that allow users to easily flick through the content of the videos.
  • With some bright minds behind the complex technology and $5.5M in funding the product thus far looks promising.

Do you have trouble finding videos you’re looking for across the web and if so would a more visual interface alleviate those problems?

I think this is a very intelligent idea. There are many times when you watch a video and see a great clip from the video. But, you don't know what it's called and you remember the short little clip. Being able to see a thumbnail of it will jog your memory more quickly. As many people are visual re callers. Smart idea.
