CNN’s Hurricane Gustav coverage resulted in reporter Rick Sanchez’s strong entrance into the Twittersphere.
Sanchez, who currently has over 12,000 followers and is following over 5,000, now has his own Twitter-based CNN show called Rick Sanchez Direct.
Contrast Sanchez’s numbers with Anderson Cooper, who made it on Twitter first but is following 7 people.
Cooper’s using Twitter not as a conversation platform like Sanchez, but merely as another Old Media broadcast medium.
