Calling All Serious Musicians: Bojam Is Here

by Jason Wilk on September 10, 2008

  • Bojam is an open-source music production and collaboration platform for serious musicians.
  • Musicians can mix, record, and collaborate to produce original or popular music from anywhere in the world
  • The Bojam Mixer displays songs in a multi-track format, allowing individual instrument parts to be singled out for learning, recording over, or removing so you can add yourself into the song.
  • In a live demo, a guitarist pulled out the guitar part from ‘Africa’ by Toto and recorded his own spin on the part within the song. He could then share that song with others who can add to the track.
  • We have a couple questions including licensing issues, how drum sets sound on it and bandwidth requirements. We’ll update you later today after talking to founder Andrew Greenstein.
