Gigya Brings MySpace and Facebook Friends Together

  • Gigya, a widget creation/distribution/analytics company, has just rolled out a new version of its Gigya Socialize widget that originally allowed people to share content within large social networks.
  • Gigya Socialize now has cross-functional support for MySpace and Facebook (utilizing the sites’ APIs), allowing friend lists from both of the networks to be pulled together in one place.
  • Includes newsfeed, invitiations, and notification functionality.
  • Gigya raised $9.5 milion in a series B round in March ‘08 led by Mayfield Fund, Benchmark Capital and First Round Capital.
  • Competes with Google’s Friend Connect, MySpace Data Availability and Facebook Connect.
