College to Athletes: Don’t Be An Idiot on Facebook

• Nebraska athletic director warned athletes to be “careful with their internet posts,” saying that the department “will be monitoring social networking sites.”
• Bruce Rasmussen of Creighton University said “athletes are required to read and sign an ‘Internet ethics’ policy that cautions them to be careful about what they post online,” and that he will “handle it any way [he] sees fit” if something inappropriate comes up.
